We start early to catch the pandas during their breakfast show, then dive into the world of Chengdu street food for lunch. After a smooth highway drive south in our comfortable sedan, we face the awe-inspiring 71-meter Leshan Giant Buddha. But we don't stop there—before driving back, we’ll take you to a local favorite spot for Leshan’s most famous intangible cultural heritage dish: Qiaojiao Beef. It’s a day of massive scale, cute wildlife, and unforgettable local flavors.

Itinerary

07:30 AM - Early Bird Panda Visit We pick you up early to arrive at the Chengdu Research Base right when the gates open. This is the "Golden Hour" to see the giant pandas wrestling and munching on fresh bamboo before the big tour groups arrive.

11:00 AM - The Chengdu Snack Feast (Lunch) Before heading south, we stop for a "Chengdu Snack Attack." We’ll skip the heavy sit-down meals and try a variety of local favorites like Dan Dan Noodles, Mapo Tofu, or Sweet Water Noodles at a clean, authentic local spot.

12:00 PM - Highway Drive to Leshan We head south on the highway. It’s a 2-hour drive—the perfect time to recline your seat in our spacious sedan and take a midday nap to recharge for the afternoon.

02:00 PM - The Leshan Giant Buddha Carved into the red sandstone cliff 1,300 years ago, this is a masterpiece of ancient engineering. Depending on your energy level, we can hike the steep "Nine-Turn Plank Road" to the Buddha's feet, or take a boat on the Min River to see the full 71-meter scale from the water.

05:30 PM - Legendary Leshan Dinner: Qiaojiao Beef You can't visit Leshan without trying "Qiaojiao Beef." This is a steaming, aromatic pot of tender beef and herbs. It’s light, incredibly flavorful, and much less spicy than Chengdu hot pot—the perfect soul food to end the day.

07:00 PM - Smooth Return to Chengdu We settle back into the car for the return trip. You’ll be back at your hotel around 9:00 PM, tired but with a memory card full of Sichuan’s best.
