Street Food Walk — The Local Neighborhoods
Three neighborhoods. Zero tourist traps. The Chengdu that locals actually eat in, every single night.

Forget the postcard streets. This evening takes you through three real Chengdu neighborhoods — a quiet residential lane, a roaring night market, and a university back street — eating your way through the city's most authentic after-dark food scene. Your guide knows every stall by name. You just show up hungry.

18:00 · Meet at Jinsha Museum Metro Station (金沙博物馆站) Metro Line 4, Exit B. Your guide meets you here and walks you into the neighborhood. The evening begins.

18:10 · Tongshen Lu Food Street — First Bites (同盛路美食街) A five-minute walk from the metro into a real residential food lane — no souvenir shops, no English menus, exactly zero other tourists.

— Grilled Sweet Potato Starch Sheets (烤苕皮): charcoal-grilled until smoky and chewy, brushed with chili oil and topped with spring onion. One of Chengdu's most addictive street bites. — Cold Pot Skewers (冷锅串串): choose your own skewers from the display — tofu, mushroom, beef, lotus root — and let them sit in the cold spiced broth. Mild option available. — Guokui with Spiced Jelly Noodles (锅盔夹凉粉): a crispy flatbread split open and stuffed with slippery, chili-dressed cold jelly noodles. Messy, perfect, unforgettable.

19:00 · Taxi to Fuqin Night Market — The Main Event (抚琴夜市) Ten minutes by taxi to Chengdu's most legendary residential night market. Charcoal smoke, plastic stools, cold beer, locals everywhere.

— Egg-Wrapped Spiced Potato Mash (蛋包洋芋): a thin egg crepe wrapped around mashed potato seasoned with vinegar, chili, and scallion. Strange on paper, extraordinary in practice. — Beef Offal Stew (李老大牛杂): slow-braised beef intestine and tripe with radish in a rich, deeply spiced broth. A bowl of pure Chengdu comfort. — Fuqin Charcoal BBQ (抚琴第一烧烤): pull up a stool at the charcoal grill. Pork belly, tofu skin, and corn charred over open flame. Cold local beer arrives without asking.

20:30 · Walk to Liulanwan Night Market & Caida Back Street (柳浪湾 / 财大后街) A ten-minute walk into university territory — younger crowd, faster pace, different energy entirely.

—钵钵鸡 (Bobo Chicken): cold skewers in a numbing, fragrant Sichuan broth. Pick as many sticks as you want — this is the one guests always over-order. — Egg-Filled Pancake (鸡蛋灌饼): a layered flatbread cracked open and filled with fresh egg, hoisin, and crispy crackers. The perfect final savory bite. — Qiu Ji Guokui (邱记锅盔): flaky, sesame-crusted, stuffed with braised pork and preserved vegetables. One last bite of old Chengdu before the night ends.

21:30 · End of Tour We wrap up on Caida Back Street. Your guide helps you flag a DiDi back to your hotel and shares their personal shortlist of what to do next in Chengdu.
